COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The COVID-19 Pandemic continues to impact all our lives significantly in different ways. Our clinic’s first and foremost priority has always been ensuring the safety of our patients and team, and this continues to be our mission even in the time of a pandemic.

Below are the changes we have implemented to ensure our patients and team feel safe and comfortable when visiting the clinic. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us @ 403-289-9922.

Patient Pre-Appointment Screening

When calling in to book an appointment, our team will ask a set of questions to determine patients risk level of being infected with COVID-19 and to ensure all patients are aware of the new clinic safety protocols.

Patients exhibiting any symptoms (Examples include a new cough, headache, weakness, fever, difficulty breathing, etc.) or have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days will need to postpone their appointment. This applies even with a negative COVID-19 test result. If there are risks present during this screening process and there is a dental emergency, we will determine on how to proceed on a case-by-case basis.

Per the mandate and guidelines of the Alberta Dental Association and College, all visiting patients are to read, fully understand and sign the COVID-19 Pandemic Dental Treatment Consent Form. Any additional forms will be emailed or faxed. Patients are asked to review, complete and send back all forms prior to their appointment to help eliminate wait times.

Day of Dental Appointment

Upon arrival, we ask that patients remain in their vehicle and call us to check-in. We will inform patients when it is time to enter the clinic safely. If patients are unable to wait in a vehicle, let us know and we will make alternative waiting arrangements.

Upon entry:
  • All patients must wear a facemask. This is now MANDATORY by the bylaw of the City of Calgary.

  • Patients will be asked to disinfect their hands.

  • Temperature will be taken and recorded with a no-contact thermometer.

  • Screening questions will be asked again as per the College directives.

We will try to minimize wait times, your cooperation and diligence pre-filling out the forms prior to your appointment is greatly appreciated.

We thank you all for your patience and understanding as we implement these safety protocols to ensure everyone’s safety,

The BDC Dental Team!
